Index of Bibliographies of
Publications on
Martial Arts Cinema

Last Updated December 2, 2003

As far as I know, the bibliographies indexed here are the most complete English-language bibliographies of publications on kung fu movies available. If you know of any items that I missed, don't hesitate to contact me at <scfeldman@juno.com>. I'm here to help. Rather than hoarding the information like a tight-assed fanboy, I am posting this list for all to see in order that future authors may utilize the information herein to write subsequent books on the subject.

All of the HKIFF (Hong Kong International Film Festival) books are in Chinese and English, i.e. fully bilingual. These publications are along the lines of scholarly film journals, and have sewn signatures. Many of them are revised/reprinted from time to time.)

NOTE: I have been a fan of martial arts cinema since 1974, but have long ago burned out on Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan. Hence, their complete absence from my bibliographies. (Actually, it's a good thing, since there is more out-of-print and/or small-press Bruce Lee stuff than you can shake a stick at -- and the Chan books are currently proliferating almost exponentially.)
